Here we go! It’s the long-awaited first issue of The Ripper Effect! What’s it about? You’ll have to read and see.
… Well, okay, it’s a story about superhumans. There will be tights.
Update Schedule
The Ripper Effect will update every Sunday morning. We may have an occasional bonus page, and the first week we’ll have a page on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, to start off with a bit of a bang.
Mission Statement – Issue No. 1
This is the first comic book I’ve drawn in 15-20 years. It’s also the first complete full-size comic book I’ve drawn, ever. And in a remarkable display of consistent psychology, I have planned out at least four or five issues to follow.
What I tried to aim for with this issue was something along the lines of the classic Marvel comics: a bit of drama, a little humor, a bunch of action. The goal is not some deep exploration of the human condition or a deconstruction of our society’s flaws. With Issue 1, my goals were simply to prove that I could actually DO it, learn how to draw a little better, set some stuff up for the next issue, and have fun along the way.
Hopefully you’ll have as much fun reading it as I had making it.
